Choosing what to wear to your engagement session can be so intimidating. I totally get it. I’ve been there. BUT have no fear, I’m here to help you out. If you decide to book with me, I’ll send you a full engagement photo guide to help plan your shoot! Reach out to learn more.
Neutral colors are my go-to for what to wear for your engagement session. These are colors you’d find in nature: greens, blues, whites, grays, browns, and even colors like coral, teal, and yellow. Here’s some examples of what works in photos:
If you do want to incorporate a pattern, choose one person to wear the patterned item and have the other match it with a neutral color. Make sure not to wear anything with a huge logo on it either as it can be distracting.
Textures and Layers
Cardigans, jean jackets, corduroy, and textured sweaters/shirt are a great way to add a little something-something to your photos. Ruffles are fun too 😉
Bring Your Personalities Into Your Photos
You are welcome to bring as many outfits to your engagement session as you want. A lot of times couples will bring one that is more, “traditional” or dressy and the other one will reflect their personalities/hobbies. If you and your s/o like to ski, bring some skis and your ski gear, if you like to hike, bring some hiking boots, if you like to drink whisky together, bring some whisky! The options are limitless. I’m happy to capture you and your love doing the things you love together.
If you still aren’t sure about your outfits, I’m happy to help be your personal stylist. Feel free to send me some options and I can help you choose what to wear to your engagement session 🙂
